I've heard good things about EpoX's boards, they are brilliant for overclocking and also very very stable, Im not sure on the exact VCore adjustments for this board, or the max FSB you will be able to achieve, however going by other Epox's you will be able to goto about 2.1V on the core (need a good cooler for this tho, probably watercooling to get 2.1V stable)...

The lfull specs for this board are here

Its about £115 and has four IDE connectors, so a RAID is possible :D, four DIMM slots, supports 1.5Gb max, check more details at the link above...

    Hope this helps,

    Biggie

My epoX board has been good to me (see sig), fsb's up to 166Mhz I think (though my hdd gives out above 145) - which isn't bad for an sdr board. VCore can be adjusted from 1.65V - 1.95V so nothing special but it lets me get 1.4 out of my athlon on a day to day basis and 1.45-1.5 for benching :D

There are other good boards around, asus, abit and IWill all do good sdr boards to get the cheapest IMO :D

    Cheers,

    r.

Or you could go for a KT7A...but the Iwills and EpoXs are also said to be very good. Alternatively, you could get an ALi Magik or SIS 735 based board, so you can use your SDR memory for now, and then get DDR later. Here's an SiS board for not a lot of money

    http://www.tekheads.co.uk/products.php?view=product&productId=600426

The benchmarks showed the SiS chipset beating the AMD 760, but it's probably not as quick as the KT266A. However, for £56, with the DDR possibilities, seems a good deal. No idea about how good a board it will be though.

you'll need ddr ram for the 8kt7a but it might be worth investing - only 30 little squids for 256Mb crucial ddr (www.crucial.com) and you could sell your old ram on a forum like this one for a bit...

As for ghost and av... got copies with my 8kt3a+ I think too (sdr version of RTT's 7), cheers,

If you have an Enermax PSU you may have problems

When your 5V line gets below 4.62 Volts (well this is the case on mine) it causes the computer to freeze, due to lack of powa!! its F. annoying cos this happened to me at one point, and somehow the registry got itself corrupt... bye bye windows...

The enermax is a great PSU, but I recommend doing a Dual PSU mod on it, so you can power all your hard drives, etc off a different PSU, that way you have 431W of Powa just for your mobo...

    Cheers,

lol I don't think the mobo really needs 431W of power, it's just that the enermax isn't good at keeping it's 5V line high - any other 300W psu would probably be fine :)
