    HI all,

I have been on the lookout for a new monitor for a while now. I currently have a 20.1 inch HP L2045W @ 1680 by 1050 @ 60Hz. It has one VGA connection and one DVI connection. I have my PC plugged into it and an Xbox360 via a HD VGA cable.

Admittedly it used to bother me to have to use the Xbox in a sub hi def resolutions but I rarely play on it these days now so it’s not so important to have 2 HDMI connections if it’s likely to massively impact on the price of any potential new monitors.

I have looked a few times and read some monitor guides but I still don’t really know what to do for the best.

I am going to start with the below link and hope we can take it from there with the suggestions.

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/24-a...-hdmi-dvi-vga-1920x1080-5ms-300cd-m-500000001

Currently the above monitor is £149.09 on scans today only page, is full HD I think and looks ok but I really have no idea if it would be good for PC gaming with my current GPU. It also has only one HDMI but has a comfortable price point.

    Further suggestions welcome.

Meh it looks ok for a TN panel, if you want HDMI on an IPS panel then you will need to look at the Dell U2311 as that is the cheapest IPS panel with HDMI from memory.

No HDMI on the U2311. Also discontinued. Now replaced with the Dell U2312HM, witch has DVI, VGA and DisplayPort.

Did you read my guide by any chance? (just wondering, to see if it was helpful or not)

I just bought an LG IPS235V-BN and that has an IPS panel and HDMI. All for around the £140-150 mark.
