    So, the time has come;

    monitor time.

    yeahhh..

    Just thought I'd look for a couple of opinions before I start my search.

    My requirements are as follows:
    -It needs to be fast enough not to ghost.
    -The colours need to be as accurate as possible. (So I don't think TN is an option).
    -1900x1200 or 1920x1200 (so 24"-26")

    I know, I know. That's what everyone wants right- the holy grail of monitors.

    In terms of budget, I'll say around $1500-$2000 CAD. Less is better, but going over is an option.

    i haven't seen ghosting for years, its really not an issue anymore.

    Cant help but think a looking at Dell's 30in could be an option, not sure on price....

    NEC are making decent panels, but Eizo for the uber priced top quality cheesecake of monitors!

    The question is finding a store/online store that sells Eizo monitor in Canada.

    Get either Dell's or HP's 24-inch monitor. Both brands are excellent, and should meet all your requirements very easily. Of course, if you're serious about that budget, you could afford either brand's 30-inch offerings, which would be fairly magnificent.

    You sir know nothing, the response is fine (sub 16ms) and can you personally see my than 1000 grades of grey? Be honest now. The dell 30in is a great screen and alot of pro's use them.

    Maybe the NEC LCD2490? I don't know how much it costs in Canada though [$1000 US, about], or how much it ghosts [if at all].

    Actually, it's a very not-fail monitor. 12ms is brilliant. Sure, there are lots of monitors out there with 2ms response, but they have astonishingly bad color reproduction. In fact, pretty much anything below 8ms either uses a lower-quality type of panel or a 6-bit panel which isn't even capable of displaying full 24-bit color. 12ms will not cause any ghosting, but will give you very good color reproduction.

    Yup. I spent years on a 16ms 17" monitor and it was fine.

    I can't remember what panel the 30" 07 Dell uses though.
