New PC Boots for 1/2 second, turns off

    yeah, you've looked at everything really. I hate doing rma's beause it takes some time but it looks like it may the only option left. hope the new one works.

    It could be you computer is really dusty, try cleaning out the dust.

    Nah, it's brand new. Haven't even got to the point where I'm ready to close the case even, so there's no dust whatsoever.

    I had this problem and spent a few hours working on it. I eventually called my buddy and he mentioned he had the same problem with that psu. When the psu was sent to us, the switch in the back for 120v-240v was just switched. so check that out, once I changed it, everything booted up fine with no issues. Its not something i would normally look at while troubleshooting, so you may have missed it.

    That could be something to check. Hadn't thought of it myself, if the switch of the PSU is in the wrong spot in Aus, they just go BANG! So that fault isn't hard to find down here, lol

    Nah, wasn't that. After reading I went and checked, and it was set correctly. Also, I had been trying to boot on the integrated graphics, but just in case I tried booting with my 8800 GTS (and the other PSU, since the little 350 would cave under it). Nothing there, either. Definitely a defective motherboard, or perhaps processor.
