Hey guys, I'll keep it short, but I've not been keeping on top of hardware at the moment, so I'm a bit in the dark, here's the lovely template: Budget: £500 (or around, if you can justify it, I'll go up to £700) Main uses of intended build: Gaming Parts required: Whole new tower (minus case) Previous build information (list details of parts): Old build is going to the g/f but I'm keeping my case, Antec P182. Monitor resolution: 1680x1050 (will increase once I have the cash for a nice screen ) Storage requirements: 750GB + will you be overclocking: not really Extra information about desired system: Completely open to suggestions, I've checked the build on the old PC Buyers guide from last month, just looking to see if anything has changed massively in a month. Cheers guys
So here's what I've come up with: CPU: Intel Core i3-530 2.93Ghz Motherboard:Gigabyte H55-UD3H GPU:ATI HD5770 1gb Memory:Corsair DDR3 PC3-10666 4gb PSU:450W Corsair CMPSU-450HXUK *modular* Drive: Lite-on drive HDD: Samsung 750GB (F1/F3??) Ran these into Scan, Dabs and OCUK. Scan came out best at £543.75, including the modular PSU instead of the standard 450w that corsair do. Would this be too much for what I want? and if anybody knows any other good PC sites that can beat that price, would be good.
Build looks spot on tbh - you've obviously done your homework. Get the F3 rather than the F1 as it's noticeably faster but other than that, nice build for £500
£500 = dual core i3/5770 £700 = quad core i5/5770 If gaming's what you do, though games are moving towards quad-core coding, in general duals are sufficient. If duals are OK, your build looks spot on. The HX450W is excellent and good for a tidy build - I highly recommend it - and you need a cooler? Something like the Gelid Tranquillo will be just perfect.
Oop, sorry. If OP isn't planning on overclocking, I'm not sure that i3 530 will be good enough for modern games; sure you don't want to consider it?
