Hi all, Ive just made my first pc and used a SSD harddrive to put my OS on. When i go though the install i get an error when choosing the hdd to install to saying Windows cannot be installed to this disk. Setup does not support the configuration of or installation to disks connected though a USB or IEEE 1394 port. But when i put in my old sata hdd it does work using the same cables and ports on the mobo. Any ideas what im missing? The ssd is a Corsair reactor 120gb. Thanks for any help. S
what operating system are you trying to install too the SSD windows xp for example will be a pain as you need to get some drivers to make it reconise the ssd drive win 7 is very easy as it is there by default
this is a known issue with the corsair reactor, take a look at the newegg customer reviews. might be a case of RMAing the drive
Hi all, finally got it working. For back info it was Win7 64bit Ent. I got it working changing the the sata cable to port 1 on the mobo and then changing it from IDE to ACHI. My mobo was on orginally set to just enabled for the 6 ports (if ports is the right name! maybe sockets?) Anyways it now sees the beasty and where it toke over an hour to install on my last hdd i have it installed and about 6 programs in that time now so very happy so far thanks for all the advice s
