Got my new PC up and running, absolutely everything appears to be working fine, but i have this device in device manager that i just cannot work out what it is

Windows XP 64bit (32bit couldn't see the full amount of ram :hehe: )
    Asus M2N32-SLI motherboard
only expansion card in the system is the 2900XT video card (had a few niggles getting the HDMI audio driver installed, but got that working so it isn't that)

I've searched through all the Driver CDs that came with the mobo and video card, but no drivers can be found for this mystery device.

If i could work out what it is, i'd be able to find drivers online, but i can't work that out yet :wallbash:

any ideas to help me find out what it is?

Same thing happened to my mate's rig a while back. He just disabled it and no harm done, but I reckon it was a firewire controller in his case.

Have a look around the mobo CD for drivers for it?

I have something similar on my Asus board, I believe its related to the awful Asus Probe software I think its called...for temps and so on. Unless you use that its not needed.

i would suggest going thru the bios and start disabling things you dont use (should do it anyway) then go back into windows to see if its gone if it has then no worries if not then i would double check all you driver installations to make sure everything was covered

What are the vendor and device id's?

It could be the ATK10k00 device (or something..). It's Asus' ACPI chip, you'll need it installed if you want your pc to go on standby (Thats not all it does).
