Q6600, Nvidia graphics card, corsair cpu, ocz ram, a 1TB hdd, a WD Raptor (or 2x in raid if you can handle it), and the case is your personal preference. If you don't know what any of these items are, use google or the search function.

why does everybody keep suggesting the raptors? they are old tech, hot, noisy, and have very little performance difference than the newest high-density drives.

go for q6600, x38 motherboard, ATi 3870 or nvidia 8800gt, 4gb of good ddr2-800, quality 500-600W PSU, and the smallest hard drive you think you need, and whatever case you think looks good. if you still have cash to burn, up the videocard to 3870x2, or grab an aftermarket heatsink and overclock that processor.

8800 Ultra, 2GB of DDR2, Q6600, 200GB HDD, whatever mobo and heatsink Bindi suggests and the biggest screen and speakers you can afford. Sennheiser HD215s for headphone, Razer Deathadder / Logitech G7 and a Logitech G11.

    Dell XPS?
Now, people of bit, don't flame me on that, reason i state Dell XPS is as follows: Pre-Built with WARRANTY, meaning if it goes wrong, its simpler to get it repaired.
Just did a quick check for you:
    Dell XPS 720 $1,499
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    3GB Dual Channel (Don't ask)
    250gb Seagate
    DVD RW
    Nvidia 8800GT
    Onboard 7.1 Souround Sound

    $45 a month

Seems ok to me, not the most powerful system ever, but it will play COD4, Crysis etc.

    Hope this helps

    Theres always one isn't there.
I'm not sure why Dell state 3GB of RAM, it was included in the price, so i'm not going to argue.
