Depends on what type of photo editing, i quite ofter am playing about with photo's of 14, 000 * 8, 500 pixels, and running that on a conroe still takes a little bit to process.
That will easily suffice, sounds like you want to overclock it Sounds like your buying it for you, when she gets bored with it or something E6600 and P5B
lol NOOOOO mines gonna be Q6600 powered, when I'm building mine you'll know lol its gonna have a list of top end kit that will make you (and my wallet) cry, but thats not until march, 3 more pay days until then
Ok, I've had a proper think about it all now and I have come down to the following spec: Mobo:Gigabyte GA_965P_S3 (£74.99) CPU: E6300 (£93.99) RAM:Crucial 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-4200C4 (£129.99) HDD:Western Digital Caviar RE 160GB 1600YS SATA-II (£36.99) GFX: Leadtek GeForce 7600 GS SILENT 256MB (£59.99) PSU: Enermax Liberty 400W (£39.99) CASE: Antec Solo (£48.99)
Hmm, enermax only has a 1 year warrenty, if i remember correctly, and there seems to be some long term issues; I've seen a few go out in the past month or so, at Hardforum. At least 4-5. Just out of warrenty. They're still a solid alternative. And modular and cheap is a plus. Your choice.
Quick question, Standard Asus P5B or the Gigabyte S3 for the mobo? Can't decide but im errrring on the P5B
Thats cool cheers highland3r, I did think they were pretty much of a muchness, i'll have a check up on it
I bought generic stuff from a shop I know does good returns, just in case. Job done, every-body-happy.
