Well I've finally decided to go for watercooling.

Heres the list I have so far.

    DD Maze 4 CPU Block
    Eheim 1048
    Black Ice Micro 2
    Water Wetter, Tubes etc

I havent decide which res to go for yet. Any ideas?

    Couple of questions:
The rad has 3/8 connectors. If I convert them to 1/2 (as the rest of my system is) is it going to dramatically lower my flow rates? I chose this rad becasue it was the best to fit into my Lian Li PC60 without cutting huge holes for 120mm fans.
Also how much tubing do you need for an average system?

For a res I would be inclined to say the Innovatek (shameless pimpage) tank-o-matic though expensive and large it looks lovely.
Jusk ask M_D_K on that one :D

As to the rad questions i'm really not too sure. Maybe someone else could help me out with that one?? ;)

Will this work to convert the 3/8 rad to 1/2. Or will the flow be too restricted.

Is there a way I can add barbs to make it 1/2? Would the inside of the rad be 3/8 aswell?

Right, Ive changed what I was going to get. This is the setup now:

    Maze4 AMD CPU Block

    ThermoChill HE 80.1 Heat Exchanger

    Adaptors - 2 x 1/2"(12mm) ID Straight Barbs

    Criticool WaterPlant Resevoir

    Eheim 1048 Centrifugal Pump

    Codeflex 12mm(1/2") ID X 3mm Wall Hose

Purple Ice Radiator Super Coolant 2 oz

Is this going to be any good and have I remembered everything?

That should work pretty well. I dont think you have much expandability with that setup and it probably wont be the quietest. The size of the rad limits the amount of energy it can remove from the water and to get the most out of it and to keep temps down you will need to run a fairly high speed fan i would have thought which equals noise! Also if in the future you want to add any other blocks to the setup, GFX or NB then i dont think the rad will be able to remove the heat too well and you might not get high enough flow rates from your pump. As far as justt cooling your CPU though it should do pretty good as long as it gets plenty of airflow.

Darv -- this may be so obvious tat you've not bothered to put it in your list, but don't forget hose clips, they are essential! :D

Don't worry. I'm going to get them from local plumbing place or I might order them with the rest.

Now I'm not sure about the rad. Would I be able to get a 120 rad in my PC60 and where would I put it.

Not too much of a problem with the pump. I'm only goign to add the northbridge later. My graphics card doesnt need it cos its not great.

You could easily fit a Thermochill 120.1 and a 120mm fan in a topside blowhole position. Just next to the psu. This may, however, restrict the top two 5 1/2" drivebays from being able to fit drives such as CD/DVD/CDRW etc. However - you could always get an LCD mounted there, or mount your harddrives in there.

Well I could do that but that means cutting up the top of the case. I don't really want to have to do that unless I really need to :blah:

You could put the fan in the same position, but in the bottom of the case? So you'll be sucking cool air through the rad, into the case. I don't know how that'll mess about with your pump/res positions though.. :)

Sounds interesting. I'll think about it. Another idea I had was to put it behind the front intake. I could cut through there and make a 120 hole for it.

Or could I leave the two 80mm fans there and then put the rad behind them with a 120mm fan behind it pulling the air through

Cheers for all the help
