    Hello!

Long time reader and now first time poster. I will skip all the "bla bla" about how good this site is and just skip to the point.

In about month's time I'll be buying a new PC and if you are at least bit geekish, you know that will be a big day for you :D It's been 4 years since the last time I bought a PC and it worked very well, served nice, I did couple of upgrades to it but now it's time to just get a whole new thing. I have decided for Shuttle XPC because next year I'll be going to UK for study and this little baby is going with me. Of course it would be way more practical to just get a laptop, but to get the power I need it would cost me way too much.

Okay so, the budget is about 1500€ for whole thing (yes, everything - mice, keyboard and monitor). Now first I must admit that I'm kinda "out of the touch" with latest things and didn't really fallow em for some time now, so that's why I'm here to get some advices and suggestions from the experts! :thumb:

Oh and, I'll be studying 3D animation so will need this PC for work in Modo, 3D Studio MAX, PhotoShop and so on. And for all sorts of other general things, even some gaming.

This is what I had in mind:
    Shuttle XPC SP35P2 Pro - 410€
    CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - 260€
    Memory: 2x OCZ DDR2 2GB Kit, PC2-6400 800MHZ, Rev2 - 136€ (2x 68€)
    VGA: Club 3D PCI-e GF8800GTS, 320MB GDDR3 - 279€
    HDD: Seagate 320GB SATA2, 16Mb, 7200rpm - 83€
    Monitor: SAMSUNG 2032BW - 243€

    Other:
    NEC-DVD +/- RW NEC, AD-7170A 18x - 28€
    Mouse + Keyboard - Max 100€

So that's 1539€. I'm open for any suggestions, if you think I should get something else please tell me. Oh, and I'll be buying this in Slovenia/Austria so the prices you see are maybe bit higher then what you're use to.

    Thank you for any help,
    Deeon

What RAM would that be? I mean... The RAM is already too cheap for me, I remember like a bit over a year ago how much I payed for just one stick of 512MB :D

I still got like a month so maybe some prices will go down a bit and with some more of searching I found better deals on some stuff, so I'm glad it looks good.

My only concern is if Shuttle's 400W PSU will be able to power all this :eyebrow:

the shuttle psu should power all of that. looks good. my only thing would be to try and find a different brand for your gpu, something like evga, bfg or xfx. good luck.
