yer EVGA are bringing out a duel socket 1366 mobo, should be showing at CES this week. there are some leaked pics out on the internet. i hope it can support the cheaper I7'2 (920) not like skull trail which needed the most expensive ones. it might even support the new I9's with 6 cores (12 threads each) I think.

Planem997's right, we're expecting dual-CPU 1366 'boards and perhaps 6-core CPU support. I'd also expect updates on all the current ranges to USB 3.0 and SATA 6. The issue is more whether you would want to buy any of the new ranges; BT's been recommending the same board since the beginning of 1366 despite the many alternatives that have come out since.

[H]ardOCP have a pict of it.

12 ram slots, looks like 6 per socket running in tri configuration and what Looks like 7 PCI-E GPU slots!! Nvidia sticker so SLI support too? Heat sinks are missing interestingly. Looks to be ATX-unsurprisingly

They say it's neither ATX nor eATX. Custom form factor, maybe?

Its probably Eatx ;) there may be a bit of extra PCB beyond the eatx confines though

I will only support Xeons (the expensive ones) because the normal ones cannot "talk" to another cpu. Sorry for the crappy explanation, but I have not looked into the inner works of it.
I don't know if your would be able to drop a single i7 920 in there, and upgrade to two xeons later on though.

    BT thread here.

There are a few different skus for the IOH and the CPUs. the IOH used in desktops has only 1 QPI link. The same goes for the the CPUs. The IOH for the dual socket stuff has 2 QPI links and the CPUs have 2 QPI links as well (1 each to connect other IOH, and the other to connect the CPUs to each other directly).

The PSU needed for just the regular workstation stuff must be pretty beefy. I wonder where people will get one that can handle both CPUs and that many video cards. but it should be good for some crazy F@H scores.
