Well, a power cut happened in the early hours of this morning which appears to have fried my main boot SSD. I'm a little out of the game as far as PC components are concerned, so what's a decent replacement under £200 for an old Sandy Bridge based system?

£200 is quite a lot. What capacity are you after?

I am sure PocketDemon will be along to give you a comprehensive answer on what to buy. My suggestion would be a Samsung 850 EVO with a capacity that suits you. The Crucial BX100 series are also good value for money.

As the guys have already stated, an 850 Evo or BX100 would be perfect.
I was looking at the 500GB 850 Evo for Christmas, and got a 500GB BX100 in an Amazon lightning sale last month for £93 (850 on offer 2 days later at £91!) and am delighted with it.
Speed up that Sandy bridge machine!

+1 for the Samsung EVO 850. I recently swapped from a 256GB 830 to a 500GB 850 EVO and the difference was quite noticeable (and the 830 was quick to start with).

Well, too be honest the £200 pricing was based on the kinda prices for a great SSD when I was last in the market!

I'll take a look at the 850 and BX100, and check out that sandisk. Thanks all.
