News New Street Fighter movie, same director as Doom

Early reports suggest that the public will be subjected to another Street Fighter movie, this time to be directed by the man behind the Doom movie.

 

this should be band before in even gets to the writing stage!

still hoping for manhunt the movie though

 

About the only film you could make about Manhunt would have to be anime tbh. They banned the game, there's no way you'd get a decently gory live-action version.

I can't see what's wrong with the last street fighter film though, it wasn't great, but it wasn't bad as a cheese-fest really.

 

I hope they bring back Raul Julia................oh wait.

 

Doom was a fantastic B-Movie .

 

it surely can't be as bad as the Dead or Alive or Mortal Kombat movies can it? or maybe it can...

with regards to Postal, i saw the opening sequence and the two available trailers some months ago, and from what i can tell the only thing it has in common with the game will be that they're "controversial" and don't take themselves seriously.

 

I watched the Doom dvd while I was having first indication of a kidneystone getting stuck somewhere. I watched it with incredible pains..

It will surely be better than the first one for the simple reason that there's no way anybody could make a movie worse than that.

 

Oh dear, I think the movie is going to be doomed from the outset, heh.

Capcom must have cried when the '94 flick was finished. I know I was! The animated movie was excellent, I just hope Bartkowiak has seen this film and can actually help regain some of the dignity that was lost with the live-action bag of crap.

It's interesting to see him taking the film from Chun-Li's story, makes a refreshing change from the Ryu aspect of the game. Even if Ryu is the best character.

 

this is definitely better than the first movie just becoz, like War-rasta said, u cant get any worse than that. (at least after 13years advance, i hope so).

but me being an old-skool StreetFighter junkie, i will definitely watch it regardless. heck i still like to watch the 94 version just to get a kick out of it through the whole movie! (and kylie minogue is always hot)

those, and how the movie going to follow chun-li's point of view (oh dear GOD if they cast zhang zi yi as chun-li i DEFINITELY will want to watch this) is also another plus point!

the only bad news is... well... its not confirmed that they wont bring van-damme back as Guile.... *sigh*


i can only dream now that Raul Julia is back.... *raise hat*

 

they should just get jackie chan to play everybody like in city hunter

 

Doom sucked except for the 60 second FPS scene (that should've been the whole movie..seriously).....I hated The Rock.....it was just too cheesy for me....this Street Fighter film looks interesting...but I'm expecting the worst....and I'm not alone on that one...

 

Part of me says: "Thankfully it's not that moron, Uwe Boll, for once."

Another part of me says: "It'd be nice if Uwe Boll was involved in this one and it financially ruined him to the point where he could no longer [illegitimate child]-ise games into awful films."

The rest of me says: "Either way, this film is likely to be dire."


We're not mentally disturbed, we assure you....I mean..err..

 

Good films, and doom, in the same sentence? are you mad!?!

Doom 3 was miles better then the film, though that's not saying much

Ah Doom wasn't that bad, it wasn't terrible certainly, but they needed more actual demons in it, God fearing pansies the lot of em.

Whilst Street Fighter the movie was bleeding terrible, the animated movie was actually extremely good, I thoroughly enjoyed it, so it goes to show that there is enough depth to the story to make a good film.

Though nothing beats Christopher Lambert's Raiden in the Mortal Kombat movie, he was pure class!

 

I actually liked the first Street Fighter film. And I like the Mortal Kombat films too.
There may be something wrong with me.

 

i want to see the postal movie... even if it was made by uwe boll.

as for this street fighter movie.... i hope they get it right this time.
