    MCW6000

It's a new approach for swiftech, but one which has shown some good results (up to 2degC better than the MCW5002!!) yet it only costs $39.99.

It is designed to be used with the MCP600 pump.

Saw this on OC or Pro the other week, there going with the Pin design still then. Im not too sure about the Swiftech range they look ok for use with a pelt but how do they compare against the RBX & WW, is there much difference as they are 2 different designs?

This looks cool but I've not been impressed with their pin designs. I had the MCW462 with a tornado and it averaged only 5 degrees lower than my stock heatsink/fan with load... Hard to say how much better water will do in that situation, it looks like there would be a lot of dead space while the water moves around the pins.

It may be a different design. But that doesn't mean it can perform well. All that is needed is careful optimisation of whichever design you choose.

I have a lot of respect for swiftech for not doing like just about everyone else and churning out unimaginative clones of the white water/cascade.

Performance wise, it is ever so slightly behind the white water, but not by much, and it will still perform better than most blocks out there. The low flow performance is particularly good.

I think however, a lot of people are missing the point. Swiftech make a lot of watercooling gear for servers and the like, and are one of the few companies truly looking to further aspects of watercooling other than outright performance.

What this new block represents is incredible value for money. It won't be long before swiftech have a kit in a similar price range to the supposed "budget" solutions, which will quite possibly perform better than some of the more expensive options.

At the current exchange rate, this block is about £25, and for that money, you get near white water performance.

Hopefully, this may force some of the "budget" companies to actually DO some research and come up with some decent performing equipment at low cost.

I gree that swiftech do push out a lot of excellent kit there. That one does look like a bit of an ugly bugger, but that's hardly the point in this game.

I'm impressed with touches lke the large bore quick connects and the use of the P4 retention mechanism.

LOL boring! someone tell bill to try a new design plz :thumb:

But seriously for £25 it looks like a fine block. Great for pelts and good for a 3/8 system. I dont like the brazed top tho its gonna get gunked up in there pretty easly :thumb:
