The new Diamond Age- Wired Online

I thought this article was extremely interesting, especially where it discusses possible use of diamond semiconductors. AND the part where it quotes Intel as having "no interest" in going Diamond. I wonder if AMD would be willing.

:eeek: I knew they could make artificial diamonds, but I had no idea they could do it to this extent. I hope AMD is more flexible then Intel.

if not the processors then maybe the heatsinks could be made from diamond!!

the ones they produce are litterally milimetres across, i doubt youll ever get one big enough for a heatsink.

iirc they go red if they contain nitrogen (impurity) and yellow if they contain aluminium (used in the manuf. process). Rough brain recall there. gonna read the doc now.
