    Hello All,

Below is a detailed list of my system that I plan to build, would be great if i could get some comment/advice/recomendations from people about my choices. I have not built a machine in about eight years so am new to some of the technology.

    Case – Gigabyte Triton
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=450660

    MotherBoard – ASUS P5N-D SLI
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=729916

    CPU – Intel core 2 Quad Q6600 GO S
    http://scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=643237
    with heat sink - http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=727865

    RAM – 4Gigs of Ballistix Tracer 240-pin DIMM (with LEDs), DDR2 PC2-6400
    http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=F91FFEA3A5CA7304

    HDD – 2 X 250GB Western Digital 7200rpm
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=567857

    GPU – 2 X Nvidia 512MB 9800GTX+ (running SLI mode)
    http://scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=853559

    PSU – 720W Gigabyte
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=832516

    Blu Ray – Re-Writer
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=727916

    DVD-RW -LG GGC-H20L

    CD- RW – Samsung TS-H492C/LEAH x52 CDRW

OS – Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit

Monitor – Dell 20” Ultra Sharp Widescreen (for when I can’t use the Bravia)

My main concern is cooling as I plan to do some intensive stuff on the machine (playing crysis, video/photo editing etc)

How much potential has this set up to be overclocked, CPU only not worried about GPU. I know its different with every one but what are peoples experiances with this motherboard or/and cpu.

Also power wise of this PSU going to suffice?

    Thanks

the q6600 is a great overclocker. with a good cooler on it you should easily make 3.2ghz.
I cant comment on the case you picked though as I have no experince with it. description of it sounds good though. have you seen any pics of the inside? might be cramped for 2 9800gtx+
speaking of which you might want to just consider getting a gtx 260 or 4870 instead.
power supply is a high enough wattage but I like many people around here will reccomend a corsair of similar wattage instead.

you've chosen a 750i motherboard with half speed PCIe slots for a SLi setup. either stretch for 780i or just forget the marketed fake hype, and buy a single GPU solution.

things never heard about/not sure about performance:
-Gigabyte case (have a look at Antec 900 for best cooling)
-Asus heatsink (have a look at Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme for best overclock on q6600)
-720w Gigabyte PSU (might be a problem if you are going SLi) (try Corsair Tx750w)

RAID0 will only give you hassle, why not buy a single fast HDD? something like Western Digital 640AAKS??

My thinking behind the two HDD was that one would be for windows and programme files whilst i keep my media on the other. I have at lease 120gb of music and then 70gb of videos. Then if one windows one goes i dont lose my media.

2 9800GTX+ will get you better performance while it worked.

gtx260 will get you better performance on games nVidia hasn't released driver updates for
