    Hi,
I am wanting to build a new system, heres my shopping list so far...

    Intel Q6600 Quad
    Crucial Ballistix 4GB (4x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz
    Nvidia GeForce 8800 Ultra 768mb DDR3
    800W Dual PCI-E 14cm Fan PSU
    500GB Sata HDD

So i have the basics decided the only thing that I'm completely lost on is the motherboard. Can people give me 2 suggestions, 1 good price and one 'moneys no option' choice.

Main things that have confused me are:
the ram i want is 1066mhz and alot of motherboards list 800mhz support
im gonna run vista 64bit so it needs to be compatible/support
    sata hdd

Mainly want it for gaming, but also multi tasking (video editing etc)

Well, you can drop the 8800Ultra to a GTX if you would want to save some money, as the 8800Ultra is just an overclocked GTX. For the motherboard, something like a GigaByte P35-DS3R/P35-DQ6 or and Asus P5K/-E/Deluxe/Premium or an Abit IP35/Pro.

Edit: You really don't need an 800W PSU, a Corsair HX620 would easily cover that, even the Corsair HX520 would work great, that could either make you spend more or less depending on the quality of the 800W PSU, but 800W is overkill, even with dual 8800s you wouldn't need an 800W PSU.
