    Good Evening Guys and Girls,

I am new to modding been reading some guides of how people have installed bluetooth modules, gps, fm raidio, touch screen and think its really cool and would like to get into that myself. Firstly I have no idea what to do or where to start. I am a Desktop Engineer and know my parts but when it comes to laptops I rarely touch them apart from real basics (hdd/ram etc) and never open it right up.

Also I have no idea where to get these parts (any good places anyone?)

What I am interested in is:

1: Would love to install a 3G Module in my Acer Aspire One (A0751H) - with Win 7 Ult. installed - however I would need to be able to insert and take out the sim card when needed.

2: Finger print reader would be cool but I think this might be a bit difficult for me, not entirely confident about cutting etc bits out the casing

3: GPS would also be cool.

4: I like to improve battery life if there is anything physical I can do. I have already stripped down win 7 to make it quicker and better on battery done everything software wise I can and get about another hour out of the juice.

5: Lastly installing a USB Stick dedicated o Readyboost would be cool and I don't mind loosing one of my three usb ports.

At the moment they are the first things I would love to look into but I really dont know where to start.

    Thank in advance,
    Max

The problem with laptops and the reason why you don't see many modded is lack of space, they are tight toughener as it is with out adding any more stuff. I've seen a water cooled lappy which although good mod, it seemed pretty pointless as it kills the idea of mobile computing. Gps would be a good idea, there must be an app out the somewhere that works through a 3G dongle. you seem to have done what you can battery wise , Linux is an option though. as for ready boost it used to work but with modern laptops coming with loads of RAM and decent CPU's it not really needed. A finger print reader modded in to a lappy would be cool.

    Thanks for your reply.

I know water cooling is no good and I know laptops are very tight but seen a bit online recently about cool things people haev integrated.

I have my netbook that goes around everywhere with me And I would like accurate GPS not just based on cell towers. And also I have lots of things open using alot of ram hence why I said integrating a usb stick inside it to dedicate to Readyboost.

Langer is the guy you want to get in touch with. He forced 16 mods onto his eeePC.
