    since whats being going on on the internet recently with so much virus activity should we not have a computer security discussion to give newbies help and support on virus removal, security tips , firewalls, downloads of latest security patches etc

    wat u all think

    i think this is a good idea as there are many people who still aren't sure about computer security

    I already started a thread where I was going to post Microsoft Security Bulletins when I receive them, it's in General News and Serious Discussion

    Yeah, hardly think it needs its own topic.

    1) Use a firewall - hardware or software, many available and much discussed everywhere.

    2) Use anti virus software - many available and much discussed everywhere. I like Norton AV 2003...

    3) Keep said software updated, most of them do it automatically.

    4) Keep windows updated, it even tells you when to update (though don't set it to install automatically).

    5) If you are infected check Symantec website.

    Thats about it really...
