A/V new tv reccomendations

its about tiem i retured my 14inch portaable (well stored it until i move as its a damn good tv) & buy a bigger set

the thigs im looing at are 24inch widescreens (cant firt abigger set in my room & even if i could it wouldent get up the stairs)

things i need are 2 scart sockets (at least 1 rgb) 1 svideo (dvd player) & one cax connection (pc)

sound aitn importiant as i will switch the onboard sound off & use my external amp setup


any reccomendations?

 

A 24 inch I have seen which I liked a lot was my friends, JVC it seems very good with a wide selection of Zoom modes.

It was a two person job getting my 28 inch widscreen into my room, I have steep narrow stairs.

Come to think about it my floorstanders were pritty hard to lug up as well.

 

He he, same as. I've got a 28" Sony and it weighs a bloody tonne. The B&W floorstanders weigh 20KG each as well.

 

I just remembered RGB direct usualy have good prices the JVC is only £309 and that is with a stand.

price range is about 200 - 400 as i have to buy a car as well


i could physically get a bigger tv up the stairs but i tould ahve to disasemble the bannister to do it *very very sharp dodgy turn at the top it takes ages to get a 20inch 4 by 3 tv up here) that & a bigger tv would dwarf my room


i do liek the look of the jvc, that & my existign set is a jvc & has been a bloody good little set £150 5 years ago ina sale, ok the remote broke but i dotn use the internal tuner or amp

 

Would a 28" 16:9 fit round if you turned it on end?

yes there is a big mathimatical debate goign on

should you give up x (space & money) for y(big tv)

for every inch that y increasex x will decrease

now the question is you need to knwo hwo much of x you have to begin with

 

Thing to think about...when you move out you're gonna want to have a nice BIG telly...

I may be purchasing a 28" TV in the next year...but it will go in my room...and stay there until I have a place of my own . My flatmates' TV will be in the living room next year.
