Well i'm off today to get a new VID CARD!!! WOOHOO!! I'm thinking a geforce3 at the best TI series..or a nice Geforce4 Ti......what you think?
I'd go for the GF4Ti4200. If you find that price binds you down to a GF3, I'm happy with my Ti200, but the flat out GF3 keeps a few points ahead of me in 3DMark. If you can, shoot for the GF4Ti4200. Although I'm not sure I'd recommend gainward from all of the issues I've been hearing about
I got meself a gf3 ti200 with 128 ddr ram. It handles anything I can throw at it @ the moment. It can also be quite easily clocked, even though there's not much point at the moment :dude:
i got meself a Xtasy Ti 4200 at 128DDR ram. Its so sweet. But i can't get over 7k in benchmarking scores cuz my mobo dosn't support 4xAGP. So the next thing for me is a new mobo Black-Ice
theres nowt wrong with gainwards, infact they are the best ti4200's to get. He's just yanking your chain.
Phew!! I chose it for the price and the colour (what with having a red mobo and all.) I'm glad to hear I didn't make a bad purchase then. Thanks.
I went with my friend yesterday because he was buying a new video card. He bought a PNY Verto Geforce4 Ti4200 64MB version because thats all they had, but that thing is sweet. Ju Its a shame I cant afford a new card right now. :cries: :cries:
The 64Mb is faster than the 128MB? How does that happen? I thought I was sacrafising speed by buying a 64MB one? Wanna explain?
the ram on the 64 meg version runs at a fatser speed than the 128 meg version. thats what he means by that.
GO WITH THE 128MB I like the Geforce 4 Ti4400 and TI4600 I would go with the 128 compared to the 64. I Have used the 64 version its great,But if you have the money go all the way.
Re: GO WITH THE 128MB the 128meg is really only usefull when you get into the higher resolutions... But then, you shouldn't be doing low rez if you're buying a GF4... Also, for the record, I was just joshing. I'm not a great fan of gainward after the many overclocking issues that have been posted on various forums. Just mah thang
