Wouldn't be my choice for a dry-weather car, but you're happy with it and it looks tidy so :)

Well.. it does, and it doesn't. Unfortunately, the "normal" Mustang they used to race against the real horse was the crappy V6, which is not only less powerful, but doesn't have the LSD, anti-roll bars or firmer suspension of the GT... so a little bit biased I felt. Still.. good fun :)

Not much different to be honest. Takes about 20 minutes to get used to changing gear with your right hand, but other than that it feels perfectly normal. No problems at all.

I don't think it looks that bad with the 17s to be honest. You gotta remember it's a muscle car.. it's not supposed to have huge rims and elastic band tyres.. THAT will look stupid. Possibly 18s but no bigger than that.

Seriously.. it's not a problem. I feel no impedement sitting on that side of the car... except when I tried to go through the dartford toll booth, and only just managed to reach across to pay him the £1 :wallbash:

Yeah I know him... both from OcUK and the Mustang forum.

Once lowered, the 17s don't look bad at all. Trust me... wait until I lower it, you'll see what I mean.

P Zere Nero is the standard tyre on the Mustang.

Nope.. not officially.. you can get it converted, but seriously... it's no big deal. I wouldn't WANT it in RHD. It's all part of it's charm. You could offer to convert it for free for me and I'd refuse :D

A friend of mine.. just phone cam pics... I'll get some serious photos taken this weekend :D

Yeah, Charmain loves it. She calls it The Horse, and the garage is now the Stable... she's well into it :D

You can all shut up about the 17s!! LOL... Trust me... it doesn't need larger rims.. it needs an Eibach lowering kit, which at teh current exchange rate will be around £200 only... watch this space!

Yeah.. was sad to see the ST go. I'd cherished that car.

Depends what you want.. you want outright performance and handling.. no.. look elsewhere. If you want to cruise around listening to that deep, v8 rumble, and have the occassional drag race then I can think of nothing finer :)

Thanks for comments guys. I'll get some pics up this weekend.

Very nice Mustang! I love Mustangs, when we drive past the Ford dealership here I just stare at the 10 Mustangs they have lined up in the front. Such a beautiful car.

it really looks great man, and when dropped it will really look the part. i have one question though. why would you get a dry weather car in England?!?!!?! of all the times ive been over there, it has rained at least 1/2 of the time i was there! anyway, nice car.do you mind if i ask how much it was once imported? its about $25,000 here, and im wondering how that compares.

Well.. it doesn't ALWAYS rain here :hehe:

It's just a weekend playing... I doubt I'll do more than 3000 miles a year in it.

No, I don't mind. If you import your own Mustang, it ends up being about £20,000 for a GT Premium, but it's a pain in the ass. Companies like ImportMyVehicle.com will do it for around 25k all inclusive. I bought this one used, with 1800 miles on it. It's only 4 months old, and I saved 4k off the new price.

Annoying when they're so cheap over there.. but the tax man takes his cut I'm afraid, and a car is not the kind of thing you can sneak back into the UK in your carry on luggage :hehe:

That $25,000 you quote will not be for a GT Premium tho... A base model V8 or V6 with Pony Package perhaps, but a fully loaded GT will be around $34,000.

Oh... some crappy video off my phone if anyone's interested.

It's cold, and I'd never take it over 2k when cold.. plus.. the phone does NOT do justice to the noise anyway.

Those rims look much better than the ones on the car I drove.

Yeah, those rims look great. I want to get similar rims for my car, but of course not Ford, those would look silly on my Pontiac. :hehe:

I think a similar set would look good IMO.

Easy. I look underneath and see that lovely, shiny, clean floor, and all those shiny anodised bolts and fastenings... and think to myself "If I wanna keep it looking like that... dry weather only".

If I spent that much, I couldn't do that. I say a car is suppose to be driven, a car like that is suppose to be driven fast.

Depends where you live mate. if you live manchester foget about it, it rain pretty much 2/3 of the time the north west of england as above average rainfall, if you live in the london area though they get less rainfall on average than mexico city, hence all the water shotages they have down there.

****, that is just damned sweet! Must be annoying on the motorway, I would be so tempted to edge it over "the sensible" speed all the time...

What's your wet weather car Pookeyhead? Or at least, what do you drive when the Mustang is in The Stable?

I oficialy hate you. I just ordered an 07 gt deluxe with interior upgrade and triple black unfortunetly she is due for delivery in a couple of weeks. My baby is triple black with those same rims, those are the bullit rims. I am thinking about ordering the black bullit wheels with polished rim on them.

I will be taking pics of my baby when she arrives. Also I have named her Eleanore in honor of gone in 60secs and the gt500 in that movie, that car is sex on wheels.

FYI the handling could greatly improve if you order the cobra rear axle from ford performance, according to many its a straight forward bolt on. It retails for about 1k usd so its not too bad. I may order that a litle down the line.

EDIT: im reaserching more about the rear axle.

Also its a shame that you wont be driving her daily, in my book a car needs loving daily and what better way to show your love to it than drive it every second you can.

I wouldn't worry about the whole live rear axle thing. The handling is fine. Slightly unsettled on uneven surfaces mid bend, but only when applying power. The limited slip diff works well, and goes a long way to aleviating some of the problems.

I can assure you the Cobra rear axle is NOT a mere bolt on modification!

I'd rather spend the money on a decent tune, and some forced induction. That Roush charger looks good. Only 5psi but gives 420 bhp, and shouldn't trash your gearbox. Remember, if you're going with a manual one, the Tremec 3650 is only good for around 400 lb/ft of torque max.

To hell with the axle.. it's a muscle car!
