Also two other things: Can anybody tell me where I can get a complete step-by-step guide to building my PC? Also what operating system would be best? Thanks
You seem to have picked a 2.5inch HDD, these are laptop drives, they will work but will be slower. I would go for something like a WD black drive. Not sure on your preference to NVIDIA or ATI, but ATI have their new Direct X 11 cards out (the 5000 series) if it was me i'd get one of those. ( i personally have the 5770) but i imagine with your budget you could get an even better one. And your power supply i have never heard of that make, maybe thats just me. But i bought a 700W OCZ ModXStream Pro Modular Power Supply which is great http://www.cclonline.com/product-info.asp?product_id=32424&category_id=263&manufacturer_id=0 Case is a matter of personal taste. Rest of it looks good, but i am a Intel man myself, but the phenoms are great! And its not a guide but its definatly worth a read : http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=173675 And i know it can be abit daunting, so if you need any help feel free to get in touch Good luck
Is there any reason you've chosen AMD over Intel? For £800 you could enjoy the significantly more powerful Intel 920, which would wipe the metaphorical floor with the Phenom II. In fact, I would just scrub almost all of your own choices (sorry!) and replace them with the B-T recommendations - as above, the 2.5" HDDs are all wrong (they're very small and slow, intended for laptops and PMPs), the 9800GT is inferior to the 4890 and 720W is a bit overpowered. If you like the case, that's a personal choice to keep (I ignored BT's recommendation there!). Anyway, my rig was my first full build too, and it was easy - like Lego with wires! Good luck. Here, just ask us and we'll tell you how things go together. The case will also include instructions as to what order it wants things to be inserted. Windows 7 x64.
