:thumb:I am always reading in Custom PC that 'those people on the Bit-Tech forums are really helpful'
    So... here I am.
    In need of help!

I am fairly proficient at building/upgrading PC's etc but not 100% of what combination of changes I need to make in the BIOS to maximise my chanced of a decent OC
My current system comprises of the following specification:-
HDD:- 320GB Western Digital Caviar Blue 7200RPM
    MOBO Asus P5QL PRO
    RAM Corsair XMS2 800MHZ (4GB)
    CPU:- Intel E7400 @2.8GHZ
CPU Cooler:- Akasa Nero with Arctic Silver 5 TIM applied.
Case:- Antec Three Hundred (2X120MM Xigmatec fans fitted to the front and one to the side panel, rear and top fan, what came with the case, Antec own brand, I believe)
    Sound Card:- X-Fi Extreme Audio
DVD:- LG Super Multi DVD RW X22
Graphics:- XFX ATI HD4870 with Akasa Vortexx cooler installed (Using Arctic Silver 5 TIM again)
PSU:- OCZ Modstream PRO 600 Watt Modular

I know that I need to disable Intel Speed Step as that throttles the CPU down to a X6 multiplier when not being used and to disable spread spectrum
I guess the main question I am asking is what is this chip normally able to clock up to based on my current setup (A rough estimate will do) and what other settings do I need to fiddle about with in the bios to maximise my chances. (I know more voltage is needed but how much, I have no clue!)

Many thanks in advance for help and advice offered.
Also...long live Custom PC which is a great read and my Bible!

there are a few good overclocking guides on the forums ; here and here for example. those can help much.

but to me, i think 3-3.5gh is attainable, higher with a bit of luck.
