If you have verizon as your ISP, you will get the BEST newsgroups out there. THE BEST. And it's free if you have dsl from them.

    or you can pay seperately

You mean usenet, check your ISP if they have their own newsserver, otherwise get a payserver (zillions of them).
Newsreaders are freely available (OLXpress, agent etc). Binary downloaders are quite handy for leeching :naughty:

Yah have been using NewsBinPRO for more than 5 years! However i switched to Newsleecher lately, it supports .NZB a little easier than Newsbinpro.

    NewsBinPRO is terrible.

NewsPro is very powerful, but terrible user interface

Newsleecher is quite good, most of the bugs are out of it now.

I use Plus.net and they have binary groups with crummy retention, i then back that up with a "pay" subscription from a company a mate works for, so i don't pay full price :D

Take a look here http://www.slyck.com/ng.php , it's a good starters guide to Newsgroups.

I also must highly recommend the www.Newzbin.com indexing service, save you a bunch of time downloading the headers and searching through them.

newzbin.com is a goodsend for piracy, so i shant recomend their highly effecient service.

QuickPar is the daddy for Parity files too.
    winrar as normal.
