It's soon to be pay day and I'll have some money set aside (£100 or so) for an upgrade.

I'm looking for a new hard drive having had some issues with my F1 lately and then I'll have £50 or £60 left over.

    Suggestions?

I'd go for a 1TB spinpoint F3 and another 2gb of memory looking at your rig.

Or save the money and get a 460 next payday!

Yeah very tempted to save and get a 460, I'm a keen folder too so it's green team all the way.

What OS are you running? If it's Vista in particular, I'd suggest the extra couple of gigs of memory.

But otherwise, what I'd say that what Zinfandel says is bang on :)

Or you could move to 4gb if you are running Vista or W7.
Again RAM is cheap at present.

460 craving. I know how that feels. My 8800GT doesn't number crunch like it used too.

Much love for the 460 but 4GB of RAM is really the standard.

Hmm, okay I have a lot to think about.
Crucial C300 64GB SSD I think to start with, that will be used as a boot drive and for all my uni work and documents, which will free up space on my hard drives.

Then I'll follow that up with and extra 2GB of RAM (or should I buy a 2x2GB set and sell my current 1x2GB)

Then the 460 in the near year.

I think that is a plan

For best stability go for matched RAM. If you can't get identical RAM to what you have (another 2 x 1GB), sell what you have and get 2 x 2GB.

    Just my tuppence worth...

imersa is selling 8GB of good DDR2 (4x 2GB), you might be able to get him to split: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=193311.

Failing that, there are others in the marketplace selling DDR2, not sure of the sizes though, have a browse.

I need a few more posts before I can get on the marketplace.
8GB might be good, I have a lot of CAD and coding to do this year at uni so my PC could spend a lot of time rendering and compiling.
