What dock did you get, Kenco?

No trouble with mine either and I use it more than my phone, netbook, main rig and htpc combined.

I've had mine for a year-ish, and I've not had any problems with it so far.

Hi Carrie, I bought the Asus one directly from Google Play :)

    https://play.google.com/store/devic...?id=nexus_7_dock&feature=search_result#?t=W10.

It's quite dear for a dock and I mulled over it for a while before seeing it as a requirement. It works really well, too.

Interestingly I did have severe performance degradation over 8 months of ownership - I RMA'd it recently and the new one is good as gold!

This makes me think too things - I was unlucky and Google really have got their customer services sorted, it was a pleasant experience.

I love my N7 though, brilliant device. As others have said, wait for the new one as it'll be similar in price but considerably more powerful (as the game has moved on since launch).

We got him one on saturday for £149 from currys. Got their £35 3 year extra warranty thing too as the bloke said you can just chuck it in a blender if you want and then bring it in and get a replacement, or if a new one comes out, get that.

I doubt the new 7 will be £149 though, I'd guess it'll be £199 atleast.
He doesn't need the extra power/features the new one will give though anyway, he'd probably not even notice.

Great device so far anyway, screen is nice and responsive, nice weight, feels solid and well built, and the performance is great.

As a tip, I'd recommend a good quality anti-glare/matte screen protector - made a huge difference to mine. I use it alot as a pmp on the train and it helps massively.
