No, you only hook up a monitor to a motherboard when you have on-board video.

Because anyone who buys a motherboard without onboard video, then posts on the internet about where he should plug in his graphics card obviously doesn't belong on the internet in the first place.

Maybe he should get his head out of Hyrule and back into the real world. Or go back to NES, maybe he can figure out where to plug the TV into that one...

Can't help but think this guy is winding you all up. His sig suggests he has a mod worklog somewhere... yet he doesn't know that he needs a graphics card?

    Hmmm....

If this really isn't a windup, I suggest you go and do a lot of reading before you damage something. Seriously. However, I can see where the confusion would arise.

NVIDIA make graphics cards, yes, but they also make chipsets. While some of the older versions could have onboard video, this is not usually implemented in the modern versions and so they're just standard motherboards. Just because a company makes graphics cards doesn't mean that everything they design has a video socket on it :eyebrow:

You're only about 10 years out of date. You had to do this with 3D accelerator cards (e.g. the 3dFX Voodoo) but for a very long time that hasn't been needed.

Because maybe he should have researched all of this stuff BEFORE he started to build a computer? That's what google's there for bud.

There are plenty good guides, and crap loads of information about building computers all over the internet; many of them have far more information that we could ever bother to explain using a forum, so why try and re-invent the wheel?

No, we're here to help real people with real, serious problems. He can read the thousands of guides and everything else there are out there, or Google. Heck, a few days ago the main Bit page even linked to the Corsair guide to building a computer.

We're not here to answer "how do i internet LOLOLZ?!"
