    Hey all,

I figured I'd start contributing to the scene again a bit with a few photos from my Niagara Falls trip at the start of November. So, browse, enjoy, offer commentary, etc. :)

Stunning. I went there at the end of the summer.
Was there a lot of Indian, or Middle Eastern people at the falls? (It was packed full of them when I went)

Welcome back, Brett. It's been quite some time.

#4 is a great shot, but I wonder if the middle area (the buildings) could be a touch brighter. Chiaroscuro is definitely the right term for it. Coincidentally enough, I was just reading a wonderful article over on Strobist featuring a mock-interview with Johannes Vermeer. Seeing your description about #4 reminded me of that.

In the last photo, I think your black and white treatment is just about right. I my opinion, The bottom half of the image is a touch dark. Thinking about it some more, perhaps it's not the overly-dark foreground, but the fact that the foot path doesn't stand out enough. I'm just nit-picking, though. 'Tis a wonderful shot, suitable for printing large, framing, and hanging over the fireplace.

Over all, I would say I prefer the last photo to the HDR compositions.
