Guys, I'm going to use heatshrink after Nils said this: It destroys crimps very easily and also destroys crimping tools very quickly (because the whole thing which gets squeezed gets too fat, at least for good crimping tools). Also doing it on both sides with a perfectly stretched sleeve in between is a horrible task, because everything must be perfect length-cut on the micro millimeter then, with zero tolerance. And later-on adjustments to sleeve-colors or better-cut lengths of the sleeve will then need a shortening of the wire in order to get the crimp/sleeve off. I think it would be absolute overkill and electro-technically dirty.
I got the ChilledPC order! Now I'm waiting on Nils and I'll start! P.S I will try 1 with the no heatshrink trick, if I screw it up then I'll do the rest with heatshrink...
Sorry I didn't reply, just looks un-neat. The heatshrink is the wrong colour (i know you mentioned it) The heatshrink needs to be exactly the same length and looks like you tried to cut it with your teeth other than that it's all good. From my experience with electrical/electronics it's all about efficient working and this includes looking good you'd be surprised how important it is to industry!
guys, this thread is not dead! I have to pick up my supplies from MDPC, waiting in the post office to be picked up but I won't be able to pick them up till the weekend probably
LOL, my order from Nils came this morning. Can you do me a purple extension too at a later date, it's some awesome violet sleeving at MDPC.
I'm not sure about your Nan but I know I can do better than that... even without a heatshrink cutter, in other words doing it by hand. Pics required when your first one is finished - quite intrigued as to how good these are actually going to be... I make them all the time but don't sell them individually, they get custom made for and installed in new builds.
