Nice and different from the usual night-time long exposure stuff (pictures of traffic!), very nicely done.

I really like those, especially the second one - very dramatic! Not sure about the borders though.

I like the haunted swing set in the second one.

How did you find focus in low light?

    with great difficulty :wallbash:

it was a case of focusing on the chains with the second pic, took about 4 or 5 attempts and zooming in with my viewfinder on the pics i had taken to be able to tell.

I thought you'd just bring a flash light along. Focus, turn off the flash light, snap!

The first photo is definitely the better of the two. I like the way the tree is back lit by the lights. Also, the orange glow provided by the fog adds a good atmospheric quality.

I've always been a sucker for night photography, especially using only existing light offered by orange street lights. I prefer photos like these in black and white because all the color is stripped out, and the orange lights translate great to black and white. The resulting image has all the mood you could ever want.

In the second picture, the entire bottom third of the photo is too dark to make out any meaningful detail, which is a shame because that's where all the interesting detail is.

That's the trick to this kind of night photography, balancing the harsh lights with all the mystery hiding in the shadows. The first one is on the right track!

fog does beautiful things. they are both so dramatic. the borders are a little distracting though. just my personal opinion
