Anyone got a night vision monocular? im thinking about getting one from fleabay but never ever used or seen one in real life before, so if anyone has one what they like ? Thanks
i have an ex russian military gen1 unit pretty over enginered and powerful. try and get gen2 though if you can afford it. or even 3 also the small tiny monocules arnt really that good. for decent night vision your looking at spending atleast £200 for gen1. but if you just wanna have a laugh then there is no need to spend that much
I have a gen 3 monocular. The reason for this is if you are using a rifle yout the monocular over your left eye and your brain compensates plus the plus effect of not blinding you with muzzle flash when you fire. Depends what you want it for, how long you going to use it, and how much you want to spend as I've left the army now and have spare nightvision hanging about.
Its for caytching thiefs in my garden, splinter cell style lol.. my gardens huge, 80 metres long by about 20 wide and ew regualry get people coming over it but cant see them to catch them, with a monocular it would give me the advantage to do some midnight ass wooping. Iread ther epwoered by a cell ? how long do these self charging cells last? the on i was looking at is the zenith 440 or if you have one your willing to part with.
I read somewhere that if you get the infrared ones, and use them during daylight, that you can see through clothing.......Not sure if it's true though.
No, I dont think it is, Godboy. Funny enough, there was a piece on this on the Gadget Show about two hours ago. The best are the military ones, but they are ~25, 000 each. The 2000pund ones were neary as good, but the 200 quid ones were poo.
floodlights, shotgun cartridge (blank) mines or trip wires, no need for night vision BLIND EM!! get some huge candle power torch. and 4 angry dogs (staffs are rather territorial) that you beat each morning with a sharp stick, and starve so they are constantly hungry.
Claymores Cheesecake. They won't be back. On a serious note, just set up floodlights with a built in motion sensor. They'll soon realise that they can be seen and it'll be a hell of a lot cheaper. The other bonus is that you know when they are in your yard - the lights turn on, no need to sit there in the dark for hours waiting for them to show up.
Nightvision, shotgun, and shells emptied and filled with rice and rocksalt. They will learn to leave your garden alone.
LOL @ some of you lot, id rather suprise them in the dark, so are the zenith 440 ones any good, also whats with this squeeze the top thing ? the these cell thigns that are mentioned.
They will be back --as they come raining back down in a 100 yard radius in teeny, tiny pieces. My thoughts exactly. It's no good being able to see them; they have to know that you can see them (else where is the deterrent?).
