I'm sorry, but if I had the money i'd buy NVG's just for the sheer coolness. Oh, and making yourself famous for doing a splinter-cell impression
so hes going to say he was robbing my garden and i hit him on the head, hows he gonna prove that he couldnt see me hahahah!. oh and mr policeman it was too dark for me to see anyone down there! LOLOL
very simple way to deter people from ever going into your garden again. dig a large hole 6 + foot deep in the area they go accross, put some nice sharp tools at the bottem then cover the hole over with some sheet ("to keep the rain out"). then when you hear the screams of some guy being impaled on your garden tools call the police. what is the person going to do? sue you for doing some gardening
Uh, the 1st generation Sony NightShot and some Panasonic cameras with IR are capable of "seeing through" certain clothing. It's not detailed pics, but will show "certain things". More info is over at wired.
Mmmm, I saw a dvcam on sale in kwiksave a while back that apparently had some sort of night vision/ir capability for about £200. I can't find it but it was (rebranded?) by medion. - H.
In order to do the "x-ray vision" the camera must be in "night vision" or 0 lux mode in daylight, that way the camera only "sees" the wavelengths near infrared. From what I remember, the best clothing (or worst depending on your position) to wear are those tan-through bathing suits as they let most of the IR spectrum through the fabric. Those cameras were introduced in the late 90's and after the "defect" was found, the manufacturers disabled the 0 lux feature when there was ambient light available. However, nearly 2 million were sold and there was no recall.
btw you need a licence for a shotgun... and they are NOT easy to get hold of... passport style licence, i think its a 5 yearly inspection of your house etc (and a very gd reason for owning one) and where the gun is locked up (and sepperate from the carts) has to be up to a very high standard... i mean thats like what ive heard
Yup, in fact, a shotgun licence is considered one of the most respectable forms of ID to have. If you can get one that is.
kelticfox ill swap you for that xbox mem you were after no serisouly, i found one if you were after it, and is nigvision stuff readily available in the forces? (through the right channels of course)
HAHAHAH Thats the best laugh I've had allday!!! On another note I found my action replay card If you can get a copy of soldier (army magazine) you'll find at the back suppliers of decent cheap NVG. Plus if you say you are a squaddie you norm get a discount of about 10-20%. The army do issue NVG if there's a need, but I found them rather heavy on my head, so I got a monocular as its lighter and the batteries last as long. That cost me £900 with discount, but it's top notch.
I once watched one of them science programes that come on for the kids. They did a experiment with some women wearing clothes, and they had written something on ther back. They tried to read numbers through there clothes using night vision camera. Result it kinda worked. similar to what DAD said, about the cloths and IR
