The Nitntendo switch has a USB-C connector to connect it to a TV. To do this comes with a big stand with an integrated UCB-C splitter and a big powerbrick. Officially, TV-Mode only works with a big power brick, giving USB-PD USB Power delivery, 5V 1.5A and 15V 2.6A You can charge a Switch with a normal 5V only USB-C plug, but Nintendo says TV-Mode does not work. As I take it on travels, and hate using it in mobile mode, I would connect it to a hotel TV. I'd like to take just a normal USB splitter cable, one to power, one to HDMI to use that and not have to carry the big stand and Powerbrick. Does anyone have any experience with this? Does it work with an certain aftermarket cable and power plug?, Maybe even a 12V car-power plug? Best regards, Eric
Yes, it works with a few USB hubs etc, most will state which switch compatibility, I have a couple that work on the switch, I can even power my switch and portable 14" screen off of a rav power battery pack, just needs to deliver enough power. you need to make sure you also have the right 3.1 usb cables that do pd and display, they are not all the same. Using non first party stuff doesn't always switch well, tends to work better from a cold boot for HDMI.
we use one of these on the smaller tv whenever i wana watch sports in silence and kids wana game on on some thing
Yes, this is why I'm asking for actual devices that someone has experience with. Thx! Alas, It's not available.
Unfortunately all I have are unavailable so just look for something with switch in the description, these are what I have that work with switch, as are the chargers I use. I normally go for USB PD with 60-65w for chargers as I do my laptop with it. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07P2WWCWQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07P2WWCWQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
