Motherboards no boot!

    Been asked to look at a pc....onboard vid us throwing up errors so tried adding a 5450 , it wouldn't post. Changed it for a gt210 and it post's but doesn't boot and sticks on nvram. Any ideas?

    What's the rest of the hardware? Old(ish)/new/ish?

    Old its an emachines pc P4 with ddr2 amd chipset

    Sounds like a mobo failure, I came across a few of those ati p4 things and they did weird stuff like this.

    Id say just salvage what you can.

    after trying with teh gt210 and no luck , finally did a full wipe and reinstall


    and its still failing video.

    time to share the bad news :(

    Oh dear - sounds like the mobo is fried :(
