I woke up this morning to find that my computer could not access the internet. Worked fine last night. The router is working OK with all correct lights illuminated. THe computer is connected to router via ethernet cable. Tried new cable - no change. Wireless devices can find network and connect. I am mystified as to what has happened overnight while the computer was off. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot this issue. Thanks

    Can wireless devices get internet?

Run the troubleshooter on the ethernet card on the PC to reset it then if that fails run a winsock fix

Go to your network adapters in control panel & hit diagnose, it'll run some tests, make sure the gateway & DNS are correct (you could always try manually changing the DNS to google as well for a test) then reset the connection.

Winsock fix is command line but isn't difficult to run

    something conflicting on the IP?

Try in command: note the space before /.

    PHP:
    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig
    /renew
    see if that works.

first try cmd prompt ipconfig /flushdns

winsock fix = Admin cmd prompt, netsh winsock reset

if that doesn't work, try removing the network card in device manager and scan for changes should re-install it

Run an ipconfig /all to see if you're getting a correct IP, DNS and DG.
