    Hey all...

I recently tried to do an old trick of using my headset with my mobo sound (Realtek AC'97) but found that the output jack was dead. Microphone and Line In work fine.

I have updated, rolled back, tried 3rd party, everything drivers wise. I have tried disabling my X-Fi and disabling/restarting my realtek audio. But for some reason the sound just dont commeth!

I was wondering if there is any way to check for sure to make sure that the problem is hardware related before I call MSI and try to get a replacement mobo.

Also...now my Xfi is going nuts...its SUPER quiet...no volume control probs.

    Gah...computers...
    Thanks

what MSI board is it? I had the same problem. Turns out the standoffs in my case were shorting the circuit somehow, causing my sound not to work. Try covering the standoffs with electrical or duct-tape and see if that works. Otherwise, call MSI.

Right, I had a similar problem expect I didn't have a soundcard... Try looking to see if you have a IRQ conflict. Hit pause/break a lot when you're system posts, at some point you should see all the IRQs. See if you're AC97 comes up. Also check if it's there in device manager. Of course, you may have already done all this, but hey, I can try =)
