My laptop with broken screen (was drunk) is connected to an external monitor. However, since this afternoon, the screen has been going blank right before the login prompt. It stays blank, no matter what I do.

I've tried this on four different monitors, and the same thing happens over and over again. I didn't install any new hardware or software, and I didn't make any system changes. It just "happened" :/

The problem does not happen in Safe Mode (which I'm using now), though, which seems quite strange.

Any ideas? Or, anyone flogging a laptop real cheap?

It's Windows being switched into single monitor mode (this drove me nuts when swapping ym HTPC between two monitors and a TV during build/install/config). is there a function-esque button on the keyboard which has a picture of a screen/square on it?
