So this is my first build and I'm having difficulty finding consistent advice. So far, my computer is: Lian-Li PC-G50 case ASRock P67 Extreme4 motherboard Intel i7 processor 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz Corsair "Vengeance" RAM Asus ATI Radeon HD 5670 Graphics Card (1GB, DDR3, PCI-E 2.0) 2x120mm case fans *edit* - after reading the PSU thread I think the Seasonic S12-380 would be suitable, where can I find it for £45 though? The things I'm asking advice for are the following: HDD - something reliable around £100 Disc drive - something basic and <£20 I'd really appreciate any advice you guys might have, so far this build has been mostly and

Thankyou, those answer my questions mostly - where can I find the parts listed at those prices though? I've never seen 1TB HDD for anything near £35, I am new to all this though so that's hardly surprising.
What is your budget? What are your main uses? What size monitor do you use? Have you bought the parts you have quoted?
Scans a good etailer to buy from. Hard drive have gone up massively in price. They were £35 back in September but supply problem due to a flood in Thailand have caused problems.
Budget for HDD, CD/DVD drive and PSU is <£150 So far I've pretty much settled on the OCZ 500W ModXStream Pro Power Supply (£47.98 on Amazon atm) which leaves £100 for remaining parts. Main use is gonna be creating big scary PDFs, listening to music and some casual programming/CAD work. I haven't decided on a monitor yet but it might end up around the 20" mark, I currently live off my 13" macbook pro. All the parts in the first set of bullet points have already been purchased, yes.

Unfortunately due to the floods in Taiwan HDD prices have gone quite literally through the roof, a 1tb HDD that used to cost around £40 now cost's usually a minimum of £100
