With a FX57, what divider & FSB would be used to theoretically achieve 3.8Ghz? Using any type of RAM. Have a blagger on msn who said he *had* a FX57 that he could clock up to 4ghz, but it wasn't stable, but was at 3.8ghz, when I asked him what FSB HTT & divider he used, he went offline.

    Is it even possible?

Possible but highly improbable. It takes phase change cooling to bring them to those speeds, and they wont be stable then - even 3.4 probably wont be stable. The guy more than likely had a Pentium 4.

Conventionally yes, they are rather expensive. Like I said, its doable, but not likely. You wouldnt have to change memory speeds if you adjust the multiplier as well.

Relatively safely. Its likely he's pulling your leg, but there IS a chance he actually is running a phase changed cooled FX at the 3.X GHz range.

Proof that it can be done.

Sounds like BS, but take it with a pinch of salt. It could always be true of course. :)

    My m8 has a FX-57 and a LightSpeed, maxed out @ 3.2Ghz
