You get any reply from him about selling you two displays for testing and software developement. I just watched one of his auctions go by without a single bid at 49.95 With one auction going rea high and now no bids I think he might see that offering the original auction price will move the most from his stock,, and being an item just taking up space for a business I'm sure that they would like to get as much money back as possible on them.
2nd auction endend at $77 or something. I'm getting 2 VFD's from him for $75 a piece. Henri sees no real hurdles in getting that thing to work. Stay tuned.
Morphine.. Got a Q? I am registered with [H] forums , though I spend most of my time here. Would you like me to post something over there leading people to this thread to maybe get some more interested bodies involved? BTW he has another listing on ebay starting at 49.95 with one bid. Thought about bidding on it, but don't want to cut anyone out from here. I guess I just too nice...
Yes, please spread the word. Tell them that soon we most likely will ahve software support for these beautiful displays. We need to keep as few people as possible bidding on these. If the bids are high, then he will want more for them, unless we could could buy MANY displays from him at one go.
Done and double done!!! check it out here and here Hopefully we can get some more interest in this. /me crosses fingers and all other appendages that can be crossed
Payment has been confirmed on sunday. Should have been shipped on last Monday/tuesday. But still no confirmation from him
Uuum, guys. I got this mail from Keith (seller); 'They are going fast. I have sold 20 already and have only 25 left. They have sold from $75.00 to $180.00 each. Keith'
but, only three have sold on ebay. damn, hes selling them either through direct emails or somewhere else. why are freaking people buying these up without researching them first. dont people realise there is no support in ay program for them yet. now theres gonna be a wave of posts on the forums for these display program with people begging for support. and isnt he a nice guy, he knows that we are waiting for software developement and could buy many of them in one go.
true. but its still kind of sucky considering if I keep getting emails from people to put on the waiting list at that rate I would have to drop some people.
So Morphine, I'm just taking a wild guess here, but is this deal most likely not to happen then? How many people have e mailed you with interest in this group buy? Another thing, has the seller stopped corresponding with you and is only talking to coorz? Just a little curious as to whats going on thats all.
Morphine, why don't you contact him to hold on to those 20 for a week or 2? Perhaps he IS a nice guy.... Alternative would be starting the group buy NOW, and risk the chance that we won't get it to work. Because we spread the word on other forums....i hope he isn't selling those displays to people who contact him directly.
Screens have arrived in my country. Import duties, VAT, customs clearance, man this is gonna be an expensive experience.... But still relatively cheap compared to a 'retail' version.
Piccie time! 128x32 vs 256x64 Hope Henri gets it working beginning of next week. Morphine, any contact lately with the seller? Rather quiet now....
Once you get a pic of these working, I will email everyone on my list with pics of them running and see how many they want. before this though, I will give the seller an estimate of how many we are looking for and see what price he gives me. that way I can come back to the people on the list an exact and deffinate price after I the estimate I would give in the original email.
it's alive! Pix of the screen: Big THANKS to Henri at LCDinfo Too bad they have been sold out, perhaps they'll come again some time... -edit- i have to thank Twyst for point me to this VFD . On the other hand g@#$ cost me a lotta money
