Electronics Noritake GU128x64-800 Graphic VFDs - Any good?

    Has anyone tried these yet? There's someone on Ebay selling a couple hundred of them for really damn cheap, so I wonder if it'd be worth getting.

    it's the Noritake GU128x64-800 - It seems to have integrated drivers. Any ideas on what software I could use? It also seems to have a serial interface. (grin)

    Basically, after my disheartening experience with a pair of Futaba VFDs that I toasted, I've found these, and want as simple a solution as possible.

    I looked at that one eBay earlier, and just passed it up, but now I read it closer and may bid.
    I e-mailed the seller to find out shipping costs though.

    Noritake GU128x64-800A update?

    Did anyone purchase one of these? There are more on ebay and I'm tempted. I requested specs from noritake and recieved them. It seems that these have no font ROM... LCDC wouldn't be of much use then, would it?
