US Duty for importing VFD Module

    HI
Could one of the people in the US tell me if they were charged any import ditues for buying this from Noritake UK (in other words did you have to pay anything more than what Noritake charged for this item)
    Thanks

    Hello Pengin,
I've a PDF data sheet I want to send you, showing the cable connections.
Its not on our web page, although you can work out the connections from the data sheet at this link http://www.noritake-itron.com/Specs/MCBK/IUKInterfaceCables-01.pdf
Our cable has the part number IFCK0659FD-800A.

Phil, I bought a 32 heigh VFD from you guys a while ago, at the first special offer price.. and so i've been on these forums for a while now, keeping my eye on these threads.

I just wanted to say how thoroughly impressed i am with your dedication to helping people out here.

Lots of people also agree with me, as i constantely see people praising you and your team..(and cheese's help aswell!) and i just wanted to put my thanks in again.

very very very very cool service.

    Thanks

    Thanks Mischa,
I'm pleased that you and others are enjoying using our displays. I'm not really part of the "team" as such, its the Bit-Tech guys like :: Cheese :: (Rob) and Enak that should take the glory as they have put in much more work making LCDC do things it was never intended to do, driving VFDs not LCDs! :eeek:
I just help out on the VFD hardware side. ;)

I think I can speak for all at BiT-Tech and say thanks for your kind words, its nice to be appreciated!

    LiQuiD-MP3 Plugin

Might want to keep an eye out for this:

    http://zapour.student.utwente.nl/schijf/

Also, we may want to poke/coax them into making sure they will support our KGU126X64F-K612A4's =]

They claim to be working on support for Noritake VFD's, as well as having support for 128 x 64, which isn't a far cry off from 126x64.

The displays have fuses built into them, from what I've seen the normal source of a problem like yours is one of them blowing...

Noritake-Itron will probably be able to fix your display for you very easily/quickly.

    Hello nichtsooft,
OK so the shorting of pins 5 & 6 didn’t cure the problem eh!
So I think its time to send it back to us here at Itron and let’s take a look at it for you. :sigh:
If it is the fuse as Cheese suggests, - and frankly it probably is! -We'll replace it at our cost with an Anti-surge type and return it to you. All we ask is that you pay the postage back to Itron (UK) Ltd. (Well pay the return postage :D )

Mail me direct if you need our address etc.

    KGU126x64 LCDC files

Does anyone know of some guide on how to program LCDC to do lovely things on the KGU126x64? Ive been trying to figure it out, but am not really a programmer and its an uphill struggle. So have only got the examples by Cheese atm. Perhaps others have made screens which they would like to share?

Thanks Rain. I think I might have seen these before, and they are all for the half height (x32) version :( I wonder if its poss to double them up with one on top of the other.

Have you slowed the data rate of the x64 to 9600 baud?

At higher speeds the x64 cannot process some commands before the next and it will corrupt.
