Heh, mine runs at 52c idle, and I'm getting new cooling. 43c is really cool, and a good temp ESPECIALLY after 6hrs of dooming (stress).

What motherboard? A lot of boards read the temps way wrong. Abit and asus especially, each are off by around 10c from my knowledge (I know Abit's are about 10c hot)

It also depends on what thermal paste you're using, if it's "burned in" yet, etc.

if you have a newcastle core, ignore what the mobo sensors think.
I updated the bios on the Abit Kv8PRO i have, and it supposedly "fixes the problem with temperature reading on some Athlon64's"
It does nothing really. half the time it gives the supposedly "propper" reading (35*c-45 load) but sometimes you'll reboot and its reading 70*c+. quite stupid really.

Really I just use them as a benchmark of sorts. Mine run about 35 cool and 43 load, so if it starts getting into the high 40's I know I have a problem.

I didn't realise the temp thing was something that could be fixed thru bios upgrades. Here's hoping MSI do something about it.
For the record, my motherboard moniter gives readings of 55-60 degrees, and a temp probe on the heatsink (which will be slightly inaccurate) gives me 40-45 degrees. Case temps about 35-40...
