I have XP SP 2 and Norton 2005, the problem I have been having lately is when I am playing a multiplayer pc game, i get knocked out every 5 minutes getting a popup from "SECURITY ALERT" from norton asking if i want to permit/block a session and it gets really annoying and disrupts my game play. How do i turn the popup off? I even disable norton 2005 and it still comes up!

    what's the game?
    is it legit?

can't you just add it to the exclusions when the message pops up?
click 'don't ask me again' (or whatever it is), then click 'permit'

    You sure its from Norton?
Because I've had popus from the SP2 security centre before with games that try to connect to the internet.

Just turn off Norton's "Internet Worm Protection" within Norton Antivirus and you should be fine.

your router (if you have one) should stop most other stuff, and you can also use the windows firewall instead.

I gave up using Norton, just caused too many problems.
Try AVG for anti-virus and ZoneAlarm for firewall. Also works out cheaper, and they are much better products.
