Check it out... This is a temperature control unit - you plug in your temperature probes and it supplies variable power to the output to try and get to the set point temperatures you set... Not got the manual here but it looks as if this thing can do a lot of stuff (it interfaces with your serial port so I think custom displays are possible as well as it reporting it's temps to your pooter)... some more shots, (alarms! woo) It graphs the temp/set point change atm it's used to control the heater in one of our reactors but it could look so good in a nice case Apparently it costs about 100 squids and was probably bought from RS or Farnell Nice. Cheers, r.
Well ok so the lcd's not as nice as my blue MO one... but it does cool things and it's not really just an lcd r.
LQQks good mate, I quite like the colours yeah! its not quite the same as BLOO tho Same as most ppl are asking, where did you get it from?? Cheers, Biggie
hehe, my brother used to work as a management accountant for Eurotherm. They basically make industrial standard thermostatic controls and stuff (like the above). i reckon they're pretty reliable as they cater for industrial standard machinery and stuff
Oh in the MOVPE (Metal-Organic Vapour Phase Epitaxy) group at the physics dept. here, the reactor's max temp is only 800 degrees so I wouldn't be worrying about the heat. No if I were you I'd worry about the 20 litres of hydrogen going through it at 800 degrees, or the arsene source bubblers - if the reactor ever did blow it wouldn't kill that many people r. p.s. as for where to get one I still think ti must have come from RS ro farnell but I couldn't find it on their website
You say you stole this from work?, i cant imagin they let you walk out with a main component for a reactor, Do i predict Chernobal 2?
mmmm many more lcd stuff: http://www.eurotherm.com/products.htm and this one looks like the one above: http://www.eurotherm.com/products/controllers/2704.htm
Ohhh found the link.... http://www.z-tech.co.uk/cgi-local/c...1-18.jpg&datasheet=/parts/datasheets/2604.pdf Costs around £1100 not cheap
