Well, my friend got the bright idea to set his monitor on top of my lian li pc 71 case when i was transporting it from a LAN. Needless to say there is a big freaking scratch down one of the black anodized side panels. its about 12 inches long. Anyways does anyone know if its possible to remove the blemish?
EDIT: Read it wrong ~~ The only thing I could think of would be either buffing out the scratch, then repainting the side, or fabricating a new side. Then kill your friend .
I thought about both, killing my friend, and repainting the side. I have come to the conclusion that killing my friend would be for a noble cause and i have thus proceeded to do it. the painting on the other hand i have some worries about. I dont know how hard it would be to match the anodized black with black paint, so i dont know. i suppose i could give it a shot and if it looks worse ill just kill my friend again. either way i win.
If it isn't gouged too deep, you can take a black permanent marker and run it down the scratch. I work for a custom computer shop, and we do that from time to time.
Yeah, but most permanent markers come out purple-y, and it looks horrid against a black anodized surface.
Here's what you do. You take your friend's computer and sell it on e-bay. Then you use that money to buy a replacement panel. Then you give it a nice paintjob. With the money left over (300-400? 20-40 for side, 160 for paintjob ) you buy the crappiest computer you can find to replace the one you sold. There you go! Revenge and replacement all in 3-4 easy steps.
i like that way, but if you dont want to do that, and if the scratch is shallow enough, some brands of car wax take out scratches. i had a simmilar prob, my friend slammed the corner of his tower into the brand new paint job on my tower. went strait down to the metel. i made him pay for a new paint job.
Well, this COULD work, but as I'm interpreting this, it's on the right side of the case. All that a window would do is expose the back of the mobo tray to the world . Could do a cool etching or something in the window, make it worthwhile...
I'd kill your friend, sell his body on the black market. Use the money for a new side panel, and if he's got a good corpse, hell, even a hardware upgrade.
Right after I painted my monitor, a freind was helping me move. He set my monitor upside down on some hard plastic in his suburban.... Not the whole top of that monitor is scratched up. I wasnt too happy about that one. GL with your freind.
