i'm trying to wire 2 blue 5mm leds for a mod, i'm soldering them in a parallel so i dont have to use any resistors
this is how i'm doing it...
    5v, +, -, +, -, ground
each led should be lighting up because they both should be getting 2.5 volts but their not liting up! help?

    the leds are still working?
use a battery to test them, i use the ones that motherboards use
it is really easy to test them with that kind of batteries

if you wire them in parallel they both get 5V so you prolly fried the LEDs already

you have to wire them in series to make them get 2.5V each and not use resistors
but 2.5V is low for blue LEDs, usually 3.8-4V

I think you got Parallel and serial backwards.

Also, you should ALWAYS use a current limiting resistor if the supply will fluctuate, regardless of the forward voltage drop. LEDs are non-ohmic and will draw much more current if they receive a higher voltage than they are rated for (= bad!). Wire them up in parallel (not series as how you described you did) and put on a current limiting resistor.

As the stoned penguin has said, 2.5V is too low for blue leds. They need about 3.6V each. So follow specialk's advice... :read:
