    Hi,

I'm looking for a keyboard as a gift.
The receiver would like a "notebook style" keyboard, but with a firm, solid "klick". Wired or wireless isn't a concern.

He's a gamer, but also types a lot.
I'd like not to spend too much obviously, so please no goldplated mechanical keyboards. :D

    So, what'd you recommend?

Cherry G84-4100 are fairly nice for low profile and can often be picked up for €10-15 on ebay.de. They are a mechanical type with low travel so should be nice and durable for quite a long time.

Nice, but I think its a bit too small.
I think he'll want a full size one.

I generally assume compact when someone ask for laptop style. They do make a couple larger G84 models like the 5200 if they will need one with a numpad.

I meant with laptop-style keys...so "flat" keys but with a proper "klick".
    Sorry if i was unclear.

Got you. I think then perhaps Cherry G80-3850LSBDE-2 may be an excellent choice if it can fall in your budget. Nice flat style and clicky type Cherry MX.

    Not bad, dear though.

Anyone has any experience with the Logitech K750 or the KeySonic KSK-8021?

I like the Microsoft Sidewinder X4 review on the site here, but as things go with Microsoft hardware, it was swiftly dropped and is unavailable.
